Day SIX- almost done

My dress is looking TIRED today. I just put it in the washing machine and will line dry it tonight so it's looking fresh for it's last day. Especially since I have a party to go to tomorrow night. Took this photo today when I stopped by a boutique that sells our dresses- Bella Vita on College Avenue. Jennifer, the owner, always has this little shop full of special things. I love it!

Day FIVE- International Night!

Up and out early today. I threw on my Tretorns, not intending to wear them all day. I should know better. The day ended with an event at school to promote the language program. Normally I would not ask for a photo with "the band" but felt compelled knowing I needed a good picture to post and what I had on my phone so far wasn't great. So here it is- ole! (and thank you Kellie Baxter- 3rd grader and my photographer!)

Day FOUR- check

It was a long day. My cell phone ran out of batteries- so snapped this at the kitchen sink this evening. Bad hair day so I spared anyone who may be following my ridiculous self assigned challenge. I'll have a better photo tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Day THREE- rain

This picture sums up my day. I took it on my walk home after meeting my friend Kia for a latte this morning. Then I went to the factory, the office, picked up the kids, ran errands and to a trunk show. Typically I would have worn jeans and a sweatshirt on a day like this.

Day TWO

As I look outside and the grey clouds are rolling in, I realize I should have looked at the weather forecast before selecting my dress for the week. Oh well. I'm stuck with VERY lightweight gingham. I will just have to add layers and rubber boots.
Also noted- I need to wash my car. Our plum tree seems to excrete a misty syrup that has covered my car. This morning at the factory I parked in a tight spot and when I got out brushed against the side of my sticky car! Will wash the dress tonight and try to wash the car tomorrow. Hoping the dress will line dry by morning.
More tomorrow.

Hampton Check Grace dress- for the week

Here is a photograph of the dress I am wearing for the week. (NOT me in the photo- I will never appear so put together) I chose it rather randomly. It's very light weight and if the weather cools down I'll have to put something on my legs. Hmmm... Maybe I can unbutton it a bit and wear it with leggings and ballet flats. Now I need to go shopping.
I need advice from blogger friends!

ONE week, ONE dress.....starting NOW!

I design dresses that are meant to be worn all day- from morning to evening. I am going to put my concept to the test. ONE week, ONE dress.
Rules are as follows-
1. 7 days in a row
2. I can wash it at night
3. bathing suits, tennis clothing allowed

going to a party- that's the dress
going to a meeting- that's the dress
walking the dog- that's the dress

Here I am in the Hampton Check Grace dress- DAY one. With the boys by the bay getting a soda at a crab shack. I've already been to church, boy scout meeting, birthday party. So far so good. Hope the next 6 days go as well.

On my kitchen table

Just picked up a couple bunches of daffodils the other day at Berkeley Bowl. They just make me feel like Spring IS HERE! I especially love the gingham tablecloth against the pewter pitcher in this photo. I may even turn the reflection into a textile for a dress!

We finally- with major help from a very good friend- launched our Facebook Fan page. And as a little promotion, everyone who joins before Mother's Day will be included in a drawing for a free tunic! Very fun. I love give-aways. Anyway- please join. And pass along to your friends.

Loving California

OK, so I was in a completely confused state of mind in March and had scheduled the wrong dates for Spring Break. My best friend was coming from the East Coast, so I took the kids out of school and off we went. It was fantastic. Of course Leanne, my friend who lives 3,000 miles away, is the one that found this treasure called West Point Inn, in Marin. No cars- visitors must hike up 2 miles and bring their own food. The kitchen is open to anyone to prepare whatever they have brought. It was delightful. We slept in little cabins with no electricity and brought our own sheets- VERY sparce. Views of the Bay and the Pacific Ocean. LOVED it! Planning to go again soon. I love California!
p.s. then we took another trip for the real Spring Break!

Tilda in Daydream

We haven't put this dress on the website yet but it is coming at the end of the month so I thought I would post the photograph. Tilda is a great summer style and I especially love the pockets that are hidden in the box pleats.
